Learn from a great master of art
BIOGRAPHY: MICHELINO IORIZZO WAS BORN IN ROME IN 1971 and after finishing the Art School, in 1993 he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
This was followed by a period of private teaching in Italy and abroad, in particular in oriental academies (Hubei University, China).
From an initial story of abstract-figurative landscapes, he continues his artistic research dedicating himself to female portraits.
Mysterious, sometimes dreamy and melancholic, the faces portrayed by Iorizzo in reality do not exist except in his imagination, in the memory of a fleeting encounter or in the artist's most hidden dreams. Iorizzo digs into the pictorial material, corrodes the surface, leaving a patina of antiquity that links it to the past to emerge on each face.
Between restlessness and concreteness, the artist's works bring to the fore a vibrant and passionate painting, oscillating between a realistic research and a conscious transformation.
Equipped with a versatile talent that ranges from painting to sculpture, from ceramics to the technique of ancient icons, all of Iorizzo's works tell of his restless and visionary spirit.
Numerous solo and group exhibitions. Some of his works appear in collections and permanent exhibitions of Italian and foreign museums.

The focus of the workshop is on the study of classical art brought to the contemporary. (this is the poetics of Michelino Iorizzo's artistic research)
The student will learn to interpret the classics in a contemporary key to acquire, over time, his own style.
The artist will propose works to be reproduced with his technique explaining every detail step by step and will personally follow each student:
How to make a painting
how to manage the materials and how his pictorial process takes place which the students will then develop with his help.
the technique is tempera and acrylics on wood
the main theme is that of the portrait and the anatomical study
MATERIALS REQUIRED: the student must bring a board of a maximum size of
60x80 cm and tempera and acrylic colors with a jar of vinavil, brushes of various sizes.
The basic preparation of the artist for the students' tables will be made available by us
BASIC WORKSHOP:

The course will start on Friday at 15.00 and end on Sunday at 12.00
They will be divided into 4 sessions of three hours each which include:
Friday afternoon 15.00 / 18.00
Saturday h 9.00 / 12.00 am h 15.00 / 18.00 pm
Sunday h 9.00 / 12.00 am - afternoon free to visit Volterra for those taking part in the intensive, departure for the basic course.
(The nights included are 2 for the base: Friday - Saturday

For the intensive 7 nights in half board)

ITALIANO: WORKSHOP CON MICHELINO IORIZZO
BIOGRAFIA: MICHELINO IORIZZO NASCE A ROMA NEL 1971 e dopo aver terminato il Liceo Artistico, nel 1993 si diploma all'Accademia delle Belle Arti di Roma.
Segue un periodo di insegnamento privato in Italia e all'estero, in particolare in Accademie orientali (Hubei University, Cina).
Da un iniziale racconto di paesaggi astratto-figurativi, prosegue la sua ricerca artistica dedicandosi ai ritratti femminili.
Misteriosi, a volte sognanti e malinconici, i volti ritratti da Iorizzo in realtà non esistono se non nella sua immaginazione, nel ricordo di un fugace incontro o nei sogni più reconditi dell’artista. Iorizzo scava nella materia pittorica, corrode la superficie lasciando emergere su ogni volto una patina di antico che lo lega al passato.
Tra irrequietezza e concretezza le opere dell’artista portano alla ribalta una pittura vibrante e appassionata, oscillante fra una ricerca realistica ed una trasformazione consapevole.
Dotato di un talento versatile che spazia dalla pittura, alla scultura, dalla ceramica alla tecnica delle icone antiche, tutte le opere di Iorizzo raccontano del suo spirito irrequieto e visionario.
Numerose le mostre personali e collettive. Alcune sue opere figurano in Collezioni e mostre permanenti di Musei italiani ed esteri.

Il focus del workshop è incentrato sullo studio dell’arte classica traghettata al contemporaneo. (questa la poetica della ricerca artistica di Michelino Iorizzo)
L'allievo imparerà a interpretare i classici in chiave contemporanea per acquisire,con il tempo, una propria cifra stilistica.
L’artista proporrà delle opere da riprodurre con la sua tecnica spiegando passaggio per passaggio ogni dettaglio e seguirà personalmente ogni alunno:
Come eseguire un dipinto
come gestire i materiali e come avviene il suo processo pittorico che poi gli allievi svilupperanno con il suo aiuto.
la tecnica è tempera e acrilici su tavola
il tema principale è quello del ritratto e lo studio anatomico
MATERIALI RICHIESTI: l’allievo dovrà portare una tavola di una grandezza massima di 60x80 cm e colori a tempera e acrilici con un barattolo di vinavil, pennelli di vario formato.
Sarà messa a disposizione la preparazione di base dell’artista per le tavole degli allievi.
